About Me

Welcome and thank you for visiting my page! I'm happy to see that my avatar or portfolio has piqued your interest enough to check out my Bio.

*I have downgraded my membership temporarily and therefore had to sacrifice my extensive portfolio. I will not be available for any modeling opportunities until Fall 2021.

I am a freelance life drawing/figure model, vocal artist, lyricist and performance artist. I am interested in networking with other artists in the industry using all kinds of creative self-expression. In fact, I enjoy all things music and movement-oriented! And while it may appear less obvious from my portfolio, I am also a military veteran and have the mental and physical discipline to endure long poses and sometimes in physically uncomfortable conditions. My background in fitness, dance and yoga also enable me to improvise and interact with my environment in creative and theatrical ways moving seamlessly from one gestural pose to the next. While I am capable and expansive working in various genres, I tend to gravitate more towards evocative artistic expression which can be applied to many facets of the liberal arts. I am very interested in collaborating on endeavors that offer both an enriching experience and that capture one's imagination. I seek continual experiential wisdom from shoots that cultivate original thinking with other like-minded artists.

I thrive in a collaboration where the mutual exchange of inventive and eclectic energy can be shared. What I enjoy most about my work is: the creative ventures and the process itself where the end result captivates the perspective audience. To see and be seen, the artist and the muse; but the most important element in any kind of art is to capture the unseen and that can only be accomplished when both parties are fully engaged in the vision together. This is very important to me because if the intentions of all parties involved in the creative process are not fully expressed, then it would be a disservice to the final result of the project.

As a performance artist, my musical ear, sense of timing, and my body awareness ties everything together. I am seeking out offers for photo shoots, voice-overs, singing, acting and other similar assignments that align with both my personality and comfort level; meanwhile field-testing artists/photographers and ideally looking for long-term mutually beneficial collaborations. I am striving to keep my portfolio as current and as diverse as possible, all the while expanding my niche in evocative art.

***While I am more inclined to accept proposals for PAID opportunities (please inquire for my rates or make me an offer and we will see if our interests are a match); I am certainly willing to entertain TFP shoots for exceptional artists and projects, or artists who are seeking publication or working on gallery exhibitions.

It brings me absolute joy to be the muse for an artist's project and vision, and as a result, bringing it to life. I am especially motivated to collaborate on projects not simply with a discussed theme or genre to expand upon, but also ones that have substance and can be expanded upon using unique lighting concepts, revival of historical post-production techniques in photography, and shooting from various perspectives. I am also captivated by the wonderful contrasts created in editorial modeling where the model is the glimpse of beauty in an environment where the landscapes and other elements used in the photo itself may be out-of-context or obscured. I have an eclectic array of interests with regard to photo shoot concepts, some of which include (in no particular order): underwater themes; fine art nudes and the geometric shapes one can create either at close range in bodyscapes or at a distance; black/white photography, vintage noir, surrealism, conceptual photography, silhouettes framed by contrast lighting, chiaroscuro, couture and fashion, time period/era themes, fitness, dance and performance art, body paint, glamour, whimsy and fantasy-driven themes, dark art, themes that promote a woman's strength and women action heroes/villains and cosplay, steampunk, feminism, themes that challenge gender stereotypes and so much more. The human form is beautiful and should be celebrated!

NUDE SHOOTS: If you are requesting to shoot with me, especially as it pertains to nudes, please be aware of the following:
I do NOT permit unwarranted touching
Please be professional in your communications (as I will be towards you)
Be as specific as you can be on your concept or theme (I understand there is always an element of improv involved during a shoot, but this will help me be as prepared as I can be for you in advance and also be able to make an informed decision about working with you)
Let me know how these photos will be used (ie. portfolio, publication, exhibit etc.)
A model release is an absolute requisite.

***Please do NOT contact me for explicit/pornographic content of any kind.
I am perfectly comfortable in my skin and believe that the human form can be absolutely beautiful. However, I am selective about the kinds of nudity that I shoot. While I am comfortable with being sensuous and provocative to a point, I draw the line at any poses that I consider trashy, degrading or otherwise demeaning towards women at various states of undress and/or that overexpose one's genitalia. In other words, I would feel most comfortable as the subject in an image, but not an object.

On that note, I may be serious about the work that I put out and the assignments I accept, but I also like to have fun. Trust and safety are important to me, so for those I that agree to my parameters noted above, I encourage you to please continue reading. Thank you in advance for your respect, patience and courtesy.

I have a moderate wardrobe and I am capable of doing my own hair and makeup within reason, but I want to reach out to and encourage the expertise and artistry of HMUAs, body painters and wardrobe designers for their collaborative efforts involving some of my more elaborate concepts, as well as, their own.

*Please check out my PINTEREST page at: https://www.pinterest.com/resonatethedawn
There, you will find a board featuring my FIGURE MODELING PORTFOLIO (although I admit it is not as up-to-date as I would like it to be). You will also find a variety of inspirational boards with themes that I try to update regularly and visions I would like to do in the future.

Because of my prominent features, bone structure and versatility; I can portray a variety of looks and styles from feminine, playful, cheeky, fun, eclectic, whimsy, wistful, melancholy, enchanting and commercial to pensive, daring, athletic, quirky, mysterious, devious, sensuous, masculine and so forth. I especially enjoy interacting with the environment, as you will see in some of my photos already and would be interested to dive into some opportunities in acting as well.

And while I may not be a photographer; I am finding that I really enjoy the post-edit process (despite not having Photoshop), which I feel can be an art all to itself. Sometimes it may not be easy to capture or control light to create the intended atmosphere and mood during the photo shoot; so with that I like to experiment and learn how to further develop my art in a way that I feel best displays my intent more prominently, including how an image is cropped. This is of utmost importance to me when working in fine art. On that note, if a retoucher or other artist finds any particular photo on my portfolio compelling enough to work into their vision, please contact me first as a professional courtesy; and if the photograph is copyrighted you would need explicit written permission from the photographer to modify the image. I would be fascinated to see the same photo transformed to a new and different perspective!

While I may not have had formal training in dance (so I do not consider myself to be an expert), I am a quick study and have had experience in some charity events collaborating in various forms of dance including: jazz, tap, bollywood, latin, hip hop etc; I also participate in recreational workshops and events for contra dancing, neo-burlesque, world dance, modern dance and street dance. I was a group class fitness instructor many years ago, but I am still an active yogi, as well as, swim and rollerblade when time allows.

Some of my other artistic visions and evocative concepts (some of which highlighting body positive activism and naturism) on my wishlist for future collaborations include more interactive pairings in my portfolio. While I am open to working with any gender, I prefer to establish a rapport first, including an in-person meeting. I am also looking to network with other models for acroyoga, contact improv dancing ('a partner dance form based on the physical principles of touch, momentum, shared weight, and most quintessentially - following a shared point of contact'), fine art nudes and other aesthetically paired-up endeavors, as well as, conceptual themes and so forth. Aerial arts may also be a long ways off, but it is more so a personal goal for myself when I become skilled in this discipline. These are just to name a few of the concepts on my mind. I have so many more ideas for beautiful collaborations in mind that I could go on and on.

I am energetic and pride myself in the ability to follow directions well and stay on task as I understand time is money. I appreciate the opportunity to connect and build my portfolio in the process. And if you haven't already, I invite you to check out my portfolio. I look forward to being your muse! If we both feel that our visions align long-term and we find that we work well together, I would welcome an ongoing collaboration!

For the love of art,
Lulu

P.S. While I invite my work to speak for itself, I have found that I am just too verbose for my own good (hence this very long bio), so I invite you to comment on my photos (if you are so inclined) and I will tell you more about the particular image/shoot or inspiration in my mind's eye (when I have time to respond of course!)

PM's: Please give me some time to go through my inbox queue. I will respond to your inquiry or proposal as soon as I am able. Sometimes I receive multiple emails at once with lengthy proposal concepts, so please understand if I cannot get to yours as timely as you would like, but I DO respond to each and every inquiry that comes my way, even if it's a rejection. Thank you in advance for your patience.

PHONE/EMAIL CONTACT INFO: I will NOT give out my personal contact information until I have determined that we would be a suitable match for further discussion regarding any proposed shoot. I prefer phone meetings be made via appointment, but I will also return your voicemail. TEXT MESSAGES: I would prefer to keep at a minimum.
Based on my previous experience in attempting to work out arrangements with some artists, I found that text messages are usually best for finalizing quick details, not whole conversations (especially in a business arrangement). It is unfortunate, but I have found that good communication skills are not standard issue and some individuals have even taken the liberty of an overly casual approach and questionable intentions once obtaining access to my contact info. This will not be tolerated. Also, my phone is antiquated and not best suited for following text conversations. I also cannot receive data, images or links.

FRIEND REQUESTS: I invite and appreciate the enthusiasm, but I am not interested in 'collecting' friends or blind friend requests! If I send you a friend request, it is because I admire your work and/or would like to work with you at some point and I will follow with a PM or TAG. I won't be accepting many friend requests at this time (although I won't decline them either). If you are sending a friend request, I encourage you to follow-up with a PM or Tag, so that I may get a better sense of what is was about my portfolio that piqued your interest. I am only accepting requests from people that I have either worked with, know through some other means or if I had been intrigued by your bio and portfolio and/or may be interested in working with you on future collaborations. On that note, if you are out-of-state, it would be best to message me your proposal and also if you make trips to Chicagoland or would negotiate pay for travel expenses and accommodations in order for me to come to you.

Thank you for those of you who were patient enough to read this Bio in its entirety. Be INSPIRED and I wish for you a beautiful day!
