I've been taking pictures, shooting film and video, and working with sound design and music most of my life. It's about all I really know how to do to make a living. Frightening if I stop and think about this too long... Most of my paid, professional work has been in the film and music world where I've done documentary/natural history film work and exhibit design/production. For reasons not entirely clear to me, I've been gravitating back to still photography the past year or so. It may have something to do with a general disatisfaction with television and mass media in general or just a greater appreciation of the strength of a still image. The simplicity and smaller logistics of still photography are also appealing. Also the arresting quality of a really interesting portrait is undeniable and still powerful in this age of inundation by moving images.
So enough of that stuff. While I've been filming sea creatures and wild places to pay the bills, people have recently caught my attention. So here I am. I'm pretty new to studio photography of this style but I am here to learn and perhaps get a chance to work with some of the interesting and talented people who spend time here.
My model shots are a tad limited so far and I'm working to expand the range with some TFP work. Please feel free to write if you'd like to work together on particular image or look. I may be new to the genre but I'm a quick study.
