I have been doing makeup since 1996 and have been a model, makeup artist, and taken courses in photography. I graduated in 2002 with a bachelors degree in Art History from the Ohio State University. I am a product expert for Sephora and hold expert certifications in both color and fragrance.
Makeup is more than a medium to me, it has a strange spiritual meaning. I love the ritual.
My inspiration comes from many things. I love film noir, old hollywood, old vegas, B Movies, Tim Burton, dark intensity, fetish (usually the makeup is delicious... I can not think of a better word). I love fashion that has a certain severity to it. I adore a bold red lip. I see the beauty in every face.
Art is truly my focus. I have a strong academic background in its history and I see my makeup artistry as more than just fashion. Sephora gives me my fill of beauty makeup everyday. I love high concept and avant garde projects. I always want to explore my craft and try new things.
I usually work with a team. Beth Gray is my partner and is amazing. I work regularly with the talented Laura Dark and Acid Pop Tart.
I am always asked what kind of makeup I use and all I can say is that my kit is very diverse. I am always adding new products. If you require a specific makeup please discuss it a week prior to shooting.
