Hello, my name is Atom.  (What can I say?  My parents are nerds.)  I'm a photographer based in the Lehigh Valley who is deeply in love with his craft.  It's always been a passion of mine: playing with broken cameras as a child, discovering film with a Mickey Mouse point-and-shoot (as well as the joys of the flash bulbs that melted when you used them), cataloging life as the high school yearbook photographer, and studying/shooting professionally in college & beyond.

Guided by an innate eye for composition and a deep patience I enjoy framing most shots in-camera, and am proud of my use of minimal cropping.  My shooting style has been correctly described as "obsessive", meaning I work hard to get the shots I want and fully exhaust all possibilities before I'm through.

My early years were spent working with people who had never posed seriously; in many cases they had never even considered it.  As a result I know how to create a comfortable and relaxing shooting environment for honest, authentic portraits.

I'm adept at and enjoy using available lighting, which allows for the freedom of a "have camera, will travel" philosophy.  And, while I'm more than capable of bouncing a strobe around the studio, sunlight will always be my favorite.   I've also had fun with candlelight (a classic), rope light, and black light.

In addition to commissioned images I do my own work and enjoy collaborations (not only with models: makeup artists, hair stylists, lighting designers, body painters, etc. are welcome as well).  If you're interested in working together get in touch and we can have a chat.  There may even be tea involved.

Intimacy is an ongoing concern in my works, and I have an ongoing project exploring that theme.  Donna Ferrato’s book 'Love & Lust' has been a great inspiration.
