My name is Ashley Barrientez and I'm the owner and creator of Top Knot Chicago. I started Top Knot Chicago in July of 2016 with a desire to create opportunities for myself, contribute to my family while being home with my sons and still express my passion and creativity.

My love for elastic hair ties, over traditional hair ties, is what ultimately led me to start this business. These hair ties are gentle on your hair and can be an accessory on your wrist more than traditional hair ties. I hand make every hair tie and design the cards that accompany them. I love that this business has been able to bring out many of the skills I’ve worked very hard on and I appreciate the joy I have while making them. I'm looking forward to expanding to more hair accessories that utilize more of my artistic passion.

This journey of beginning Top Knot Chicago has completely surpassed what I hoped for when I started this venture and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for Top Knot Chicago and myself.
