Melanie Ho Ken is a freelance makeup artist based in Vancouver, BC.
Passionate about the art of makeup since childhood, Melanie finally decided to pursue formal training and graduated from the Blanche Macdonald Centre after completing the Makeup Artistry Diploma Program in November 2007.
Melanie’s collaborative and professional approach has won loyal private, bridal and commercial clients. Melanie has contributed her creativity to commercial events for Virgin Radio, Vancouver Fashion Week, the Leo Awards Fashion Show & Gala, Make Up For Ever, and Annabelle Cosmetics. In May 2008, Melanie created the stage look for up and coming recording artist Nuelle for her performance at “Pass the Mic” at The Media Club in Vancouver.
In July 2009, Melanie celebrated her first published fashion feature in the premiere issue of Vancouver magazine V-Rag. Her second published fashion feature followed soon after in the Fall/Winter 2009 issue of styleCanvas magazine. In Fall 2009, Melanie began working with Daughters of Dawn Vintage and has since contributed to their Fall 2009 online catalogue and their upcoming Spring 2010 lookbook. Melanie was credited as being part of the “Dream Team” for a Vancouver couple’s feature in the Fall 2009 issue of Real Weddings magazine.
