Sarah M Richards

I have been interested in hair and makeup since I was in high school.  I now work full time as a hair stylist and makeup artist at American Image Salon and Spa. I am also a part of their artistic team. My goal is to take my career as far as I possibly can.  I love doing both hair and makeup, but my first love lies with makeup. 

   My work consists of everything from beauty to high fashion to fantasy.  I use traditional forms of makeup, as well as I free hand a lot of my body work with water based cosmetics.  I also airbrush, create tattoos, and cover tattoos.  I pretty much do it all.  I love doing any work that really challenges my skill level and allows me to push the creative envelope.

   I have a very extensive art background.  I was on the National Art Honor Society through high school and college.  I have a B.A. in Mass Communications with an emphasis in television production.  I am also a licensed cosmotologist.  My art background made makeup an easy and natural transition for me.  I started off doing mostly theatre makeup for my high school plays and then makeup for independent student films in college.

   I am extremely creative and love conceptualizing ideas.  I am also very organized, punctual, and professional when it comes to my work.  I mostly do payed jobs, but I am willing to do TFP's or test with experienced photographers or on projects that interest me on a personal level.  I am also willing to travel.  I love what I do and always have a great time with everyone involved in a shoot!
