Up-and-coming photographer shooting since October 2006, usually considered as grassroots and/or raw talent, nothing fake and/or pretentious...

I am usually open to paid photoshoots unless I have issues with paid models who expect a 'pay first and shoot later' policy prior 2 shooting (known as business b-4 pleasure); keep in mind that I am on a grassroots budget where I cannot tip $500 for a model who wants to show up in a bikini.

I have an open door policy on (TFP/TFCD) if s/he would consider; if it is someone that I know well as if they were my best friend, I would forgo this option if needed (e.g. the model/clients are established). This is often used for in-service training exercises for live photoshoots (this also includes field-testing camera equipment, new or refurbished) alongside building both portfolios (for myself as the photographer behind the camera, along with the models in question; some of my photoshoots are paid although currently in collaboration with the Bay Area Media Services since June 2008. Also covering live music in the Houston Metro and Austin/Round Rock area).

CD/DVD archive policy (photos of runway shows, private modeling shoots et.al.) - I have had requests from models, photographers, promoters, artists, musicians, and/or clientele that I have done business with where they wanted their pics e-mailed. After numerous requests - here's the official manifesto:

E-MAIL POLICY - I USUALLY PICK 3 OF MY BEST OUT-TAKES WHICH ARE SENT; THERE ARE SOME WHO PASS THE OFFER OF A CD ARCHIVE WHERE MY PHOTO WORK GOES UNNOTICED; HAD MY SHARE OF TOO MANY CON ARTISTS AND/OR SCRUB MODELS I DO NOT RECONNECT WITH AGAIN.

DISCLAIMER: live photo archives (e.g. still images, live video) could be used publically in my portfolio, online or in person, for promotional and/or for networking purposes. Models (also non-models e.g. elected officials, businesses, artists) who are planning to conduct business with my photography services, or those who I have known personally, should not hold the photographer liable for the pictures that I would be using in a public domain.

For those who are interested in conducting business - official TFP/TFCD/TFDVD sessions (including CD/DVD archives which are distributed as shareware) will require indemnification by both parties (some models, fashion designers can have photographers indemnify a liability waiver). Feel free to contact via e-mail or my VM/txt for official inquiries.

I seldom use my point-n-shoot Canon Powershot these days for official photoshoots where I used the lo-rez option of 640/480; these days, I have shot hi-rez where anything 5MP+ are impossible to e-mail to which the only alternative is to burn CD/DVD-ROM archives (TFCD/TFDVD). Here's my current rates (subjected to change; because of the economic recession since 2008, im accepting cash paid up front or $40 tips since im strugglin 2 pay off outstanding bills):

Portfolios on CD (TFCD footage - includes indemnification for models): $25+
Event coverage (live fashion shows et.al): $100/hr (first 4 hours; includes CD archive)
Photoshoot on location: inquire within (rates commence @ $100/hr or day rate ($500 under 12 hrs, $1000 for 12 hrs+; due to the recession since 2008, will entertain negotiable rates); email first since I only give my # to clients that I know well
Photo packages - $115+ (includes unlimited 4 x 6s, 8 x 10s for portfolio shots)
*rates subject to change - cash up front option OK (sorry, no low ball offers)

Work # available on request due to privacy issues (if booking in advance - contact ASAP since I am booked for other events e.g. niteclubs, art car events, political coverage, and/or live performances - runway, live music, stage shows). Will consider meeting in person (lunch or dinner) for the photoshoot theme; VM/txt or e-mail OK.

Will consider travel outside the Houston/Galveston, TX Metro area if needed (a gallon of 87 octane is averaging $4.00/gal (as of March 2012) where I am using a hooptie SUV as a work vehicle instead of my art rig - all photo assignments beyond a 165 mile Houston-ATX/SA/RR (Central TX region) radius e.g. photoshoots in the DFW Metroplex, West Texas, TX Panhandle, Rio Grande Valley, or out-of-state) will require fuel stipends these days)...

Photography services via appointment, my rates depend on the job in question (ps - I would not collaborate with someone that I do not know too well, especially for models, modeling agencies, nightclubs, and/or promoters who abhor the H-town art car community or snap for no reason; had my drama with these playa-hataz. I have banned several MySpace and Facebook profiles, along with e-mail addresses for those who are haters (these catz usually impose an economic embargo with the boundaries of Harris County), especially for those who practice racial discrimination, 100% conservative, or those who consider favoritism where grassroots photographers are excluded as if the latter were flake photographers. Please respect my wishes during a business collaboration; those who rub yours truly wrong or abuse my photo services, especially them catz who take my photography 4 granted, are banned 4 life from posing with my photo equipment.)

Some have inquired if I have a photo studio; currently, I do not have a studio although have done on-location photoshoots but will consider the use of studio lighting - (this is the virtual-less reality here - rent costs $$$ and $5 gallon for 87 octane (as of summer 2008) costs $$$ where my art rig is out of commission as a daily driver unless someone would spare a hooptie Vespa scooter). Another factoid is that my dad has been laid off since 3.13.09 (had my drama several times; he does not like my photo services and the H-town art car community) and wish not to have the models that are my best friends calling him a creepy individual (U would not read the Houston Chronicle where my services are smeared by the mainstream media - seen disgraced politicians and/or former celebrities becoming the downtrodden) - those who know my track record take notice - I detest who I abhor 100%. There are some models who turn away grassroots photographers using their residence as a makeshift studio (or if they are uncomfortable with the photographer's residence where escorts show up - either industry (makeup artist, photographer, stylist) or armed (as in off-duty law enforcement or private security).

Shooting locations which I have considered include Houston Heights/West End, Downtown Houston, Montrose/Museum District, and east of Minute Maid Park. Since late 2008, I have scouted NASA/Clear Lake, Galveston Island, and ATX/RR 4 locations. Although I am considered an informal off-duty escort (elected officials exc. the Mayor of the City of Houston, candidates, models), I reserve the right to have off-duty escorts/bouncers (sourced from the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff/Constable pending clearance from upper brass to deal with high-risk shooting locations e.g. a photoshoot in Third or Fifth Ward or dealing with the homeless, day laborers) on location.

Will consider nude portfolios for TFP via request (e.g. Playboy test shots, body painting/body art, artistic nudes, NO HARDCORE PORN!!!); e-mail inquiries welcome. I respect the wishes of my angels who would not lower their convertible top.

Fav Models that I have photographed (who I consider as my Angels; to date (with the exception of a 'lifestyles' photoshoot @ DTOX (the model I photographed later vented @ uncirculated out-takes - has snapped several times due to excessive nicotine in her lungs) and a private shoot w/Liz London @ the Bikini USA State Finals 2008), I have not done private photoshoots with my angels yet since they would not collaborate with a grassroots photographer who (1) has no friends in H-town's modeling industry and (2) my current 100% outsider status as a Houston-area art car artist. Because of who I am (there are several Houston models who do not return my phone calls or e-mails), no one would bother to advance-book my services; the grassroots photographer is considered as 3/5 or .6% of the photo industry in H-town - the equivalent of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club. Those who brand yours truly as someone who is usually picked on as a individual of foul character - keep in mind that I distrust negative connotations branding yours truly as a villain; there are actors who are offered such film roles to earn a living and frequently typecasted.
