I have been taking pictures for many years and every now and then I get a good one. If I comment on your work, please don't feel obligated to do the same. I only want genuine comments. Which means also embracing the negative. "cool pic" doesn't help me grow.
Since this happens all the time, I guess I should explain that I don't pay models unless I'm being paid for the project. I am a professional videographer/photographer, just like you are a professional model and I work just as hard at the shoot as you do. But this aspect is a hobby for me. I do it for fun unless stated beforehand. The reason I feel I have to explain myself is that I get a lot of emails soliciting jobs and then the model gets angry and rude when I politely explain all of this. Easier to just put it in my bio. Please don't be offended and understand that I do respect you and your profession and I absolutely believe you should be paid for your work. But I don't pay to do my job.
With that being said, I am very happy to work with anyone and everyone. I love to shoot and that's really all that matters. I believe in an open source lifestyle so I don't use model releases unless it's a paid project and we've worked out your compensation beforehand. I'm very generous with the images. I often give the model(s) copies of the untouched images so they can edit them themselves if they want. I believe that the photos or video we shoot belong to both of us.
