About Me

kdmorris was born and raised in Philadelphia PA. When he was eight years old he took his late mother's Kodak 110 camera apart
and put it back together. He learned that was a major "no-no." He was always one to dig beneath the surface to see what makes things work.
Now, more than 40 years later, he photographs people as they work and enjoy life.

His first cameras were two Canon AE1 Programs. These were followed by a Canon T-50, which he traded for a lens.
Several years and several cameras later, k/d/morris now works with Canon and Mamiya bodies and lenses.

With little formal training, kdmorris honed his craft by following the leaders in the photographic community through reading books and
articles and asking questions of other photographers. Through trial and error, which was an expensive but rewarding lesson,
it paid off. As a result, kdmorris has become well known for his concert, fashion and event photography, an educator as well as
"everything you need a photographer for..." photographer.

OPERATION GIVE BACK: PHOTOGRAPHY

When experienced concert photographer kdmorris reflected on a question that he once asked another experienced photographer a specific question: "How did you do that?" with regard to an image he had seen by the photographer. The answer was dismissive and life altering.
As a result, Operation Give Back: Photography was born on October 16, 2010.

The primary function of Operation Give Back: Photography ("OGB") is to interact with other experienced and novice photographers by teaching, exchanging ideas, sharing knowledge and techniques on settings, conditions, composition, landscape, still life, event and
candid photography, including but not limited to copyright protection and virtual publications.
OGB is for anyone who takes pictures regardless of your ambition, level or frequency.

It is his intent to have Operation Give Back: Photography grow into a Non-Profit Foundaton with the assistance of corporate and
private sponsorship and contributions that benefits a universal community of photographers who will in turn "Give Back" through his new education center "The Philadelphia School of Creative Endeavors."
