I like to work with people. Tall, thin, short, pudgy, scraggly, pale, dark, somber, funny, serious, silly, young and older. I think of the human body and especially the human face as an infinite canvas, and myself as the painter.
discerning light photography works with the dream of creating tomorrow's memories today.
I talk with the people I photograph. It helps to know something about them as individuals. I laugh when I shoot, because life presents funny situations. I am moved by the beauty that I see daily around me. I would rather get one awesome image than spend my time hoping for the best to simply emerge from a succession of photos.
My rates are quite reasonable. I can work with you on location or in studio.

Download from my
http://discerninglight.zenfolio.com and review and choose your best images. They will be processed to make them really stand out. I may take fewere images with the expectation that quality matters more than quantity. Usually one to three of the best of that look.
Rates are realistic and reasonable for a shoot: Two looks $75 and you can have your CD or images in less than a week. Full body, head, 3/4 shots included in each look. We can work out the details for MUA and stylist. Ask some of the people I have worked with. Word of mouth is the best advertising.
TF* is really OK, particularly if it will benefit my portfolio. Pitch me some great ideas; work with me to make them realily and we can discuss it all. I am particularly eager to work with new models, new MUAs, stylists, etc so that I can hone my skills and build some colleagues. I prefer to have a conversation - phone or in person before I work with someone. But above all, I am easy-going and pleasant.
My studio can be where you need it to be...I can work out of an Eat Street area studio and the Twin Cities Photography Group Studios. We can also use the urban canvas as part of our creative process.
