Not every Model is for every Photographer, Not every Photographer is for every Model. Sometimes it just doesn't work - don't force it.
Very busy now with personal essays but will be shifting directions soon: look for my free - free (no strings attached) Headshot Day coming in September and my FREE, FREE I'll shoot anything you bring to the studio day! Plus, we're about to open a special gallery of Le Strange in the Fall of 2013 - watch it, join it.

My blog is www.harlemphoto.wordpress.com - it's not Fashion. It's edgy and it's for adults so if you click through be 18+ please.
ALSO LOOKING FOR NEW PEOPLE TO WORK WITH WHO NEED TO SHOOT SOME EDITORIAL STUFF OR SOME FASHION WORK IN THE STUDIO FOR TRADE IN FEBRUARY/MARCH.
I am a serious, experienced photographer with over 30 years experience with all genres and types of photography. My work is displayed in private collections and small galleries. I am based in New York City and have numerous references if you so desire - from other photographers, editors, curators or models.
I shoot Fashion, Sports for Athletes and Recruits (Imagine a full sized FATHEAD of you in your place), Nature (but only when it excites me or when I'm traveling), and Portraits. I've shot in India (Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Bangalore, Goa), Pakistan, Appalachia (WV, TN, KY), Mexico, Finland, England, France, China, Hong Kong, Australia and Sri Lanka - to highlight a few places.
I tend to work on Photo Essays and work on a theme for several years when working for myself.

I still shoot film (MEDIUM FORMAT) as well as Digital. I prefer NIKON/NIKKOR lenses and bodies and a Mamiya Pro TTL 645 for my work. If you want web ready stuff no problem we can scale it down. For my commissioned work I print 20x24 prints. So there will be lots of images.
I like a closed set - keep your boyfriends/girlfriends and managers at home.
Please don't bring drugs or ask about smoking please. And in the words of a photographer I like "No, I won't have sex with you!" Please don't ask it makes me uncomfortable. If you want to speak to models who've worked with me and who can vouch for your safety that's fine with me and I respect that but if you bring an escort there will be a place for them to wait and they should bring something to read.
I hold an MFA, BA and BS degrees in the Arts. So if you love to talk about high-minded "Suzanne Langer - Feeling and Form" type things I'm good to go. If you want to talk classic painters, modern painters or aesthetics - that's cool too.
I like to work with Music so bring yours if you want to share. I'm pretty open-minded (at least about music).
I'm committed to a high quality image which requires a high quality experience and commitment. If I don't like it I won't print it. I meet everyone BEFORE a shoot (no exceptions) and don't know why you'd come to work with me without having a look at my work on my website or on my blog. My work is flexible and I don't always shoot the same things - there are plenty of photographers who do that.
