Currently I am looking for Models for a series of pieces based on the Angel theme, also Eve...
These pieces are incredibly detailed works of art that allow the Model to be more than a Muse within a photograph as each piece captures each Model sculpturally and exist as a dimensional expression of the Model in a lasting medium such as steel, wood or composites
Sculpture and photography are my primary mediums while the works are intricate and involve many hours of painstaking work to complete.
Often I work from life castings to generate splashes from the Models that then translate into visual elements within the pieces. An example is a piece in which I carved a bra from solid cherry for the Model to wear.
Models are then photographed within the environments while wearing couture elements that I create as apparel.
Within my work I seek to eliminate a connection to any era, or to recognizable references tied back to specific genres.
My interest is to create an aesthetic that is timeless and true to a driving theme or story that I am looking to create, and the ultimate goal in the expression of an image is to capture that story with all the pains necessary to pull it off.
Nudes are either boring....erotic.....or artistic.
If they are boring, something has gone terribly wrong-
If they are erotic, they are most likely weak in another area-
If they are artistic, then they are not obviously nude, and something much more important becomes the focus, something much more human. (((I also shoot non nude and implied work as well )))
I am often asked and yes it is helpful and fun to bring someone along to a shoot and is fine by me bring anyone you care to, your mother grandmother, wife, husband, friends...I enjoy meeting people...
Special thanks to all those who have participated in my work as models or other. And thank you for your patience as the art really does take a long time to create...
