About Me

A frequent wanderer, a lackadaisical drunkard, a charming bastard, an occasional evil genius, a passably decent photographer and as needed a fairly competent paramedic.

Photography is my passion but not my livelihood but I rarely am without a couple of schemes for my next shoots. It is one of my two artistic outlets (the other is cooking) and given the general demands of my life, I take them both quite seriously.

I've lived in 32 cities on four continents and don't see myself slowing down any time soon and in case there was any confusion, I do not actually live in the Vatican, the idea amused me somewhat and as no other location seemed to suit I went with it.

Given the amount I travel/move I'm always keeping my eyes out for locations and subjects for my various ideas and hair-brained schemes.

If you're wondering why I sent you a friend request, I probably stumbled across your portfolio and not only appreciated your work as inspiration but thought that perhaps down the line there might be an opportunity to collaborate.

I generally prefer to pay cash rather than do TFP when it comes to obtaining models/MUAs/etc as that way I can rely on their professionalism to ensure I get what I'm looking for out of a shoot and I enjoy that when when using a professional one generally hears a lot less of:

"You want me to do what? where? with that? Yeah that ain't gonna happen."

I used to rely primarily on my ability to charm the women I was dating and bribe my friends with beer to obtain my subjects and their acquiescence to whatever scenario I had cooked up in my mind but as I'm seeking to aim higher with my art, it  seems to be asking too much.

It is one thing to ask a male friend to put on a woman's nightgown for the sake of art, it is entirely another to ask them to go downtown  on a Tuesday night and prance around in a dark alley wearing nothing but said nightgown for two hours.

Whereas the professionals I've worked with tend to share in the excitement of the creative process and be more willing to take one for the team.

Hows that for a bio, well, I'll stop here and just welcome you to the insanity that is my life and if I haven't scared you off yet, just wait, I'm sure to come up with some crazy idea that will make you second guess that judgment call.
