I've been interested in photography my entire life and I've worked in the photographic field since I landed my first job as a darkroom rat in a portrait studio in New Orleans at the tender age of 19. Since then I worked for twelve years as a senior medical photographer at Duke University Medical Center, and in 1991 opened a custom photo lab printing for many of the pro and fine art photographers in central NC. In the late 1990's I started to shoot architectural and commercial work, I developed many relationships in the business community continuing to build my shooting assignments, finally closing my custom lab in 2001 to focus my full efforts on my photography.
During all of this time I continued to work on my personal work, capturing the diversity that is within all of us. Photography is my work and my passion, but people have always been my love and inspiration.

Currently working on a book to be titled "Making Contacts". A collection of portraits capturing the diversity of personalities I've made "contact" with. These portraits are shot using an 8x10 camera, then I make an 8x10 "contact" print which is given to the subject as a gift for being a valuable part of the project. Let me know if you are interested in being captured for the book, or working on other ideas you might have
