My name is Scott Anderson and my company is called Anderson Artwork. I am based in the Kansas City Metro Area. I have been in business since 1999 and my specialities are Fine Art, Portfolios, Events, Portraiture, Boudoir, Commercial and the occasional Wedding. I am able to travel with advance notice and expenses paid.
I have been asked to be an "Artist in Residence" at The VALA Gallery 5834 Johnson Drive, Mission Kansas.
My Passion is Art and my Dream is to take pictures all over the world. My Studio's Motto is...The Camera, The Eye, The Light...Together with the Soul...Make the Art!
My Philosophy?.... It is all of the combined moments, lived in search of excellence, that ultimately make it possible to inspire the trust another person needs to let you see into their heart...and then to allow you to point a camera at what you find there. So all day, everyday, becomes merely preparation for the times I am privileged to hold a camera.
BOOKING: Due to numerous "No Call No Shows," booking time will no longer be done without a deposit of 1/2 the sitting fee for the style of shoot you wish to book. There are many people wishing to book my time. Once I have booked a time slot with you...they NO LONGER CAN. So being a "No Call, No Show' or any other kind of last minute cancellation is not only rude to me but rude to the other Model/Artists that could have booked those times if they had been available.
Call or write with what you are wanting to capture. I will respond with a quote for that exact concept. There is no sense in giving you a generic quote that may cover services that you don't want but doesn't include the ones that you do. A natural light, casual fashion shoot simply doesn't cost what swimwear shot underwater in the Bahamas does! You will find my rates are competitive with any one's.
If you like my artwork enough to consider booking with me, there are 4 basic ways that can happen....
1. You retain me to shoot the look or looks you want shot. Telling me the way the shots should look, what you wish to wear, hair style, makeup ...etc. I will shoot those exactly as you wish them to be captured and I will quote you my rates to do so. You are the Client and the Client gets and pays for what they want.
2. You book a look you want shot, in the style/concept you want it captured in...just as in Condition # 1 above. In exchange for that [ instead of paying me ] you agree to do a shoot in a style/concept that I choose. We both give the other our best efforts...1 shoot your way for 1 shoot my way....and no money needs to be exchanged. This is called a Trade shoot. A release must be signed for my shoot to allow me the chance to seek compensation for my time if I can get sales from the images.
3. We collaborate and agree on a shoot concept to mutually build or portfolios. This is also a type of Trade shoot but not done as a 1 for 1 deal. Basically, one shoot concept, agreed on by both parties. These types I will only agree to shoot if the concept is so dramatic or unusual that, it truly adds something unique to my portfolio. A release must be signed so there is at least a potential for future sales. Depending on the expenses necessary to produce these works.... a percentage of the net profits will be paid to the model, as those profits get made.
4. You have the right look for one of my projects and I hire you to do that work. The images captured will be for my own artwork and done in the style that I decide and design. There isn't much negotiation on these shoots. No more than you would try to tell a Painter what colors to use in their own works. Basically, I become the Client, just as the Model was in Condition #1 above. A release must be signed and some type of compensation is paid to the model. I do like to hear suggestions from people involved in these shoots but they are still my own art work and the final product I choose to produce is what that whole process is about.
In all the above, fair use of the finished/edited images is granted for the model's portfolio and online profiles. Online versions will be supplied to you, ready for use with no further alteration allowed. Printed forms of the images are available for all 4 conditions. In condition 2 and 3 the prints are available at my cost, no mark up will be placed on those. In condition 4 the physical prints will have a small mark up but will not be priced or presented as the production artwork is. Those are usually signed, number and sold in gallery settings. A model's print would be produced portfolio sized and unsigned.
