Sunlight Digital

Sunlight Digital is a small, artist-friendly video production company in the Los Angeles area.


The heart n' soul of Sunlight Digital consists of Tess Spaulding (owner, 1st assistant director, camera op/editor) and Allen Kaufman (writer/director & digital cinematographer/editor).



From there, our staff is comprised of a very talented crew with whom we share our long work history. 

We handle jobs of varying sizes and put together our production crew according to our clients' goals and budget.

Allen and Tess first met in the mid-90's, then began working together on a production staff in 2001.  They formed  Sunlight Digital in 2005.

They share over 25 IMDb credit listings between them - including major motion pictures and television shows.  In spite of a long production history, Allen's credits list is meager - while Tess' credits list makes him jealous!  (links to IMDb pages posted below)





Our main purpose on MM is to network with local talent and crew in Southern California: models, actors, writers, photographers, stylists, and make-up artists. 



Our production services to the public include writing/directing, high definition digital cinematography, editing, and every aspect of post: editing, sound mixing, graphics & animations, compositing, color correction, and DVD design & authoring.



Our creative goals include developing original program content and to offer new ideas to the world thru the art of filmmaking.

What do we mean by "artist-friendly"? 

"Artist" can be a very broad term.  In general, we are referring to:

  [*] photographers
  [*] filmmakers
  [*] anyone involved in a creative industry who is serious about their craft











Sunlight Digital understands the nature of creative work.



We make it a point never to distract from the atmosphere that is essential to the creative process when artists are at work.  If you've worked with other video production crews, you probably have experienced the other side of the coin.  Not with us. 

    
As artists ourselves, we understand the creative process and honor creative space.

Our promotion package features artists working at their craft, behind-the-scenes and candid moments, and interviews.  We add our editorial touches during post-production to develop a mini-documentary/EPK that is entertaining, informative and interesting.
