John Kelleys passion for photography was sparked when he started shooting bands such as Cartel, Bloodkin, Cobra Starship, and Vigilantes of Love. Then in the summer of 2006 when he interned under, portrait photographer, Dan McClure he realized that photography was not just his hobby, but also his future.
So in 2007 John ventured to Turners Falls, Massachusetts to hone his skills as a photographer at the Hallmark Institute of Photography. During his time at Hallmark he was published in Issue 16 of JPG Magazine and his photography was part of multiple exhibitions in the Massachusetts area.
After graduating from Hallmark with an impressive portfolio, he returned to Athens Georgia where he received a position as Graphic Design Artist at Southland Graphics. Within six months he was offered a position as Art Director at Ruby Sue Graphics where he continues to work today.
Also within the year 2009, he has assisted Gregory Heisler on the TIME photo shoot of Sanjay Gupta and conducted his first celebrity shoot with the comedian John Heffron.
He now resides in his hometown of Athens, Georgia where he continues to grow as a photographer, web and graphic designer with his own business JGK Media.
