Primarily a dance photographer, serving Chicago dance companies since 1990. Current interests are: Fine Art; "Film Noir"-like portraits; and story-telling vignettes.
I like to challenge myself all the time. I shoot with Large Format film cameras. It is a slower, more thoughtful way to shoot, and yields results not possible digitally. I recently started shooting underwater, a whole new set of technical challenges.
Seeking models of all types for various projects. Current projects are Dance Documentary, Fine Craftsmanship (focusing on those who make items the old fashioned way, with skill and artistry), re-creation of "Hollywood Stills" of the 40s and 50s, and a social commentary on society value of the individual (requires acting skill). Also recreating scenes from Japanese woodblock prints of late 1700s life in Japan. Asian actors, male and female, needed. Good swimmers for underwater nudes are encouraged to apply.
Regarding Friend Requests: I generally do not accept "fly-by" FRs. If you have looked at my port and want to work with me then message me and we can discuss. I am not here to try to collect a high head count of friends, I am here to work with quality people, professionals, to turn out high quality work. That doesn't mean you have to make a living as a model, MUA or whatever, but that you have to approach the task professionally.
NUDITY: Most of my work involves some nudity, be it fine art B&W images, Underwater, even the recreation of 1850s Japan (the woodblock prints often show bathing scenes). Exceptions are dance and traditional craftsmen (I've never seen a nude blacksmith, and don't want to. Same goes for a pastry chef.) Those are done as a documentary, and whatever is their attire is OK. If the dancers are nude then OK, if they are in tutus OK. I don't shoot porn, adult content, or "nudies". I believe the human form is wonderful and beautiful. If god intended us to wear clothes he would have us born dressed in a three piece suit, necktie and wingtips. If you want to work with me in the underwater or fine art genres then you need to be comfortable in your own skin.
I believe in paying for work, and let models use the images in their port, and also provide a nice finished fine art print. You can always bring an escort to any shoot for your safety and comfort. If we are on location, and they want to help carry something then they get paid as well for assisting.
