UPDATE: I'm now doing vintage/antique photography! I've just acquired hundreds of costumes, accessories, props, stage sets and misc. equipment from a local antique/amusement photography studio that closed recently, but their (unfortunate) loss is now our gain. So if you're looking to do vintage, steampunk, 1800's, frontier, hillbilly, or just about any other type of retro photoshoots, my studio is near Pineville, Missouri - less than one hour's drive from Fayetteville, Arkansas; Joplin, Missouri; and Grand Lake, Oklahoma. Also, for large events with multiple models I can arrange to bring a portable set to your location for a reasonable fee. Book me for your next party, family gathering or other meeting and give your guests/clients a fun and memorable experience they'll really thank you for!
I have many years of experience of getting the best results from posing amatuer and non-models, so working with shy and timid folks of all ages, shapes and sizes is no problem for me. I truly enjoy seeing the look on people's faces when they see their finished photo and say things like: "I can't believe that's really ME!" or "I usually don't look this good in photos!"
Models: If you've worked with excessively impatient or demanding photographers before, you'll really appreciate the relaxed and low-stress atmosphere I have at my photoshoots.
____________________________________________
In my early professional work I primarily worked in photojournalism (since 1986) and property/landscape photography (since 1997). A grounding in the fundamentals of photography for so many years gave me a sincere appreciation of the demands of composition, which provides me with my own unique photographic approach.
Working from this personal perspective, I've focused more of my recent creative efforts on stylized portrait & glamor photography. In these fields I've learned that getting the best from all models, no matter what age, gender, shape and size is my highest priority. Finding the right poses to best complement each individual model guides my efforts more than preconceived notions. Bringing out the natural beauty and distinctive style within the person is my constant guiding principle.
Going far beyond the basic requirements of quality photography, my favorite projects include additions of a distinctive graphic art style for those clients and models who appreciate the embellishment. If you have a specific idea or even a general theme you want to explore, I'm open to all suggestions and look forward to the process that will produce exactly the look you are searching for.
