About Me

Photographing strangers is an experience so personal that I have found myself utterly addicted. When sharing an intimate connection such as this with a complete stranger, it’s almost as though — if only for a brief moment — I have stolen a bit of who they truly are inside.

Photography has always been a romantic relationship for me — a love affair. This is not only through my interaction with my person in front of me, but also during the development of the images I’ve shot. Having spent hours in the darkrooms with my work has allowed me to explore and expand my creative process in an intimate setting.

As I began to design and build my own custom camera — modeled after my eye and my own perspective of the world — I began to question the rigid format of the traditional square and rectangular images. Since we do not view the world within these corners, I create round images in an effort to reflect a more natural perspective of the moments I choose to capture.

Although photography is first an foremost in my life now, it hasn't always been. I pursued many different creative avenues prior to it's discovery when I was in college, from painting and drawing to sculpture and model making. All have impacted my life in someway, changing the way I see things and forcing me to look deeper. It is for that reason that I continue to have my personal projects in which I can be reminded of where my artistic journey began.
