Graphic designer/illustrator and art director with a camera. Model training, model portfolios and fashion shoots are what I do in addition to mostly nude work for my website. I try to treat each shoot as a team effort and involve the model as much as possible in the process of imagemaking. The idea and narrative of a shoot are as important as the technicalities but if I don't have a good, personable model to work with, I'm sunk.

My kit is all Nikon digital with Apple Mac back-up for workflow and post production.

Networking with truly professional models and photographers is the whole point of being on this site and I'm looking to work internationally. I have a huge respect for the fashion photography greats, past and present and take great pride in a successful shoot. I'm 62 and treat models with respect but believe a good shoot should be fun.

Some comments about my work say that it is clean and classic. I don't depend on Photoshop effects and plug-ins to get what I need and prefer to get it right in the camera wherever possible. Although I admire good editing when I'm using a camera I'm a photographer, not a graphic designer.

My rates are reasonable and represent good value. Limited TFCD is for friends and exceptional cases; however I am prepared to travel for the right model. No-shows and flakers will not be reconsidered, neither will they be recommended to fellow photographers.

Flakers who do not want to work with me, choose from the following list:

Say you don't do nude work even though it's on your port.
Communicate furiously then stop for no reason.
Find it impossible to speak on the telephone.
Cancel the day before a shoot.
Book a shoot then disappear.

Favourite excuses:

I can't start my car and anyway my dad's car is blocking it in.
I've just got a new boyfriend and he doesn't like me modelling.
Was the shoot today?

The above are just some of the reasons that I now mostly work with professionals. However if you're not a professional model but behave as if you are and you're not from Lincolnshire, get in touch and make my day.

If that all sounds very grumpy it's because flakers drive me up the wall. However, the excellent models who have been an inspiration to me more than offset all that. Some are listed below.
