It’s clear from the popularity of shows like America’s Next Top Model that there are a lot of aspiring young models that dream of sauntering down the runway in Milan with the likes of Naomi Campbell. Yet, the world of fashion is so fickle; for every Iman or Tyra Banks who is bestowed the title of supermodel, there are dozens of nameless faces that are tossed to the side like last year’s fall lines. So, you would think that the beautiful Paris Styles would be a little apprehensive about her chances in the modeling world. But with a dogged work ethic and a modest, but determined personality that exudes with each step she takes, you can bet the bank that you’ll be seeing Paris somewhere in Milan taking the runway by storm.


When you hear the name Paris, you think of the highly influential and innovative country in the fashion industry. You can imagine the cities sleek style of architecture and curvy silhouettes. “I’m going to be the “Beyonce” of the Fashion Industry,” she said. Now we all know for one to make such a profound statement as that, they have to be ready to take the world by storm. Those are the words of Miss Paris Styles. 


When you fuse a southern hospitality, an effervescent New Jersey style and a background that includes Black, Creole, Sicilian, and Indian, you get the new beauty in the modeling scene. The 25 year- old lioness standing at 5'11" was born in Somerset, New Jersey where she spent most of her teen years. She moved south to Lithonia, Georgia for a few years, where she spent countless summers with her grandparents. Though she spent the majority of years up north, she says she “is a country girl to the core.”


Preppy, punk rock yet boyish at times, this mixture enables her to stand out in a crowd. Her style is eclectic and different; she wears things that others wouldn't dare! Growing up there were early signs of what Paris Styles would embark on later in her life. Starting at a young age her uncles would put her in different outfits and take pictures of her, ultimately creating a mock photo shoot. And of course as a young model in the making, Paris always made her way in front of a mirror to strike a pose.


Flash forward to 2008, with her stars in line Paris Styles is ready to hit the runway! When Paris was asked if she looks up to any Supermodel she says “Yes. Tyra Banks, I love her, she’s the best. I’m going to be a supermodel like her, but bigger. She’s her own boss and that’s what I want to be, she has her own talk show, America’s Next Top Model and she’s into acting. She’s been blessed with cosmetics contracts, graced covers of every magazine, worked with every designer, and worked with Victoria's Secret. That’s one of my goals. I really want to Model for Victoria's Secret because a lot of good supermodels became supermodels by modeling for them. I know I’m going to Model for them one day. I believe in that.


Paris' definition of a model is a person who is a role model for people with low self esteem. She wants to show people that they can do it and wants to be a good example for young women and people who need hope. Furthermore she realizes that though there has been a breakthrough for black models on the runway, there is still a need for MORE! God has Blessed Paris with many gifts. Besides modeling, Paris is an all around creative artist and into fashion design. She draws, paints, and is a sculptor and crafter. She is also into interior decorating and is a writer; so let’s just say she can do it all. Her artistic abilities is a sight to see. She'll leave you in amazement.


One thing that many aspiring models may not take into consideration when getting into the business, are the various challenges that come along. When you ask Paris about her experiences thus far she says “That a lot of people come at me with business, but then some how it turns around with them trying to get more personal. Trying to do more than business if you know what I mean; not being about business and that really irritates me. It makes the whole situation uncomfortable and weird. That’s not professional to me at all. If you want to talk business then just let it be about business and that’s it.  That’s just one of the pressures of modeling.”


Though Paris has not reached her peak in the modeling industry, she already has her eyes set on things to do after she embarks on her modeling career. “I’m going to have my own clothing line, art galleries and I want to establish my own interior design collection. I also want to have my own perfume and I’m also going to do acting. I’m going to have continuous success. When I make one dream come true it’s not over cause I’m just going to dream another dream and make that come true, so on and so on. There is no limit to the things she can do. She’s a rising star that’s going to have continuous success with her modeling career making her dreams come true and making dreams come true for others. She's here to help change the world. She's giving a new meaning to the word “Supermodel”.


It is definitely a fact that Paris Styles was destined for the bright lights from the beginning. Her name is not a made up stage name. And being born with the name Paris Styles there’s no doubt that she was absolutely born to do this. As you watch her work her craft, it will surprise you that she is only a few years into the game. Confidence and professionalism are two words to describe Miss Paris Styles, so expect her to be hitting a runway, a magazine and a TV near YOU!
