Brian C Baker

I'm a self-taught painter and sculptor.  I have over four years of experience working as an Architectural Stone Carver in Indiana and Florence Texas. 
My subjects tend to be people who are important figures in my life such as family, friends, and mentors.  My process of painting is from life, not photo.  Painting sessions sessions take from three to five hours and the average amount of sessions is anywhere from four to twelve.  I see myself as a sculptor who paints, so i take an equal interest in giving a sense of depth as I do the actual surface of the paint by multiple heavy layers.
