WHO: “JAK” is a nickname a friend of mine gave me (my initials backwards). I’m a 20 year old self taught photographer currently a sophomore in college on the track of getting my BFA with (hopefully) a concentration in photography.
BACKGROUND: I first started taking photos when I was 17 with those point and shoot cameras. I received my first DSLR as a graduation present when I finished High School. I’ve been shooting digitally for a year now, mostly of myself and of my friends. I thought it would be a great opportunity to join MM, and improve as a photographer. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience in taking photos with models I'm not already familiar with, hopefully meeting some of you here will change that.
STYLE: I still have a lot to learn, and definitely still experimenting to see where I feel most comfortable in. So. I really don’t think I have a definite “style” yet, but I tend to gravitate towards doing portraits. I LOVE to play with color tones and such so I try to put that in most of my shots.

*If you're curious, I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel Xti. I currently own 3 lenses (18-55mm, 28-80mm, 50mm). Seeing as I'm a broke college student, I dont own lighting equiptment as of yet. So, I mostly do my shoots outside with natural light :]
