Having done portraiture for while now, I have been trying to improve the quality of my work thus far. But the more I shoot, the more i feel that getting a photo with meaning is tough. What seems like a nice photo to me, has become dull, in a sense, not as sensational as it was before. What i am trying to achieve now, is to create an image with meaning, something that is beyond just a pleasant picture. To me, visually pleasing things are just a human construct, that we kind of instil in ourselves when we grow up as humans, therefore giving our impression of what is nice and what is not. But I want to work deeper than that.
