About me
I have been photographing places, objects, and people, for over 32 years. I have been a motion picture cameraman for almost 24 years. I enjoy working with people in a relaxed and calm manner, usually in natural settings or on location, but well-lit studio shoots have their place as well. I enjoy working with all types of people, in any situation, but typically love fashion, portraits, and interesting, funky, artsy or themed shoots.
I prefer to work with artists and models that have at least some creative input into the shoot, whether it is with wardrobe, location, or theme.
I am about creating amazing, interesting and beautiful images, and a true collaboration between photographer and model can sometimes create amazing results that neither one expected to achieve. This is the goal. I am influenced by so many photographers, styles and approaches...the voyeurism and whimsy of Helmut Newton, the fine artistic and laid back sensibility of Bill Brandt, the documentary fashion sense of Robert Doisneau, the stylized and timeless images of Julius Schulman that allow viewing a photograph to really transport you back in time, the hard work and effort of Ansel Adams, the ability of Garry Winogrand to capture the moment at the instant it should be...and by countless hundreds of artists and photographers that never cease to reinforce my feeling that I am doing the right thing with my time...
That said...I have low rates, am easy to work with...and if you truly love being creative to your fullest potential in front of the camera, then let's find time to work together.
