you know....there was a day not that long ago when I never considered the 'theory behind' the image - why, how, what, where.....now it;s all beginning to take a place and .....well basically what i think you need are some images that have what they (barthes) call a 'punctum' - you've got a really nice figure C, and the images are just missing that 'punctum'
we need to work on that (I hope) in 2009.
The theorists call it a need for 'studium'
