DO NOT SEND A FRIEND REQUEST UNLESS YOU EITHER LEAVE A TAG OR PICTURE COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As we move through out this year I am looking for models that want to develop themselves into models and not just take a bunch of pictures. Learn to manage your portfolio successfully. You want to reflect great work and a wide range of looks and concepts. Always understand the job (photo shoot) before accepting to do it whether it’s TFP, TFCD or paid. You want to ensure the end product will be something you will be proud of being a part of.
Model Advice:
1. Always show up on time for your shoot: Whenever you are scheduled to shoot with a photographer(s) you should make it your business to be on time. Being late (even a little) can leave a bad first impression. And we all know that first impressions are crucial with success in any industry. Its okay to be a couple of minutes early but the general rule is about 15 minutes early at the most. If you show up too early, you might accidentally rush your photographer and his/her staff. So if you find yourself too early at your shoot then take this opportunity to relax a little and if you know what the shoot is about then use this opportunity to mentally prepare yourself. But don’t loose track of time.
2. Hair:
a. For Women: Arrive on your shoot location with your hair in the most simplest of forms unless discuss otherwise by your photographer. Do not over process your hair or wear some crazy style and coloring technique. If you wear a short haircut then ensure the cut is that of high fashion model style. This will make styling your hair easy while at the same time making you more marketable. WOMEN DO NOT HAVE ANY BODY HAIR ANYWERE! Sorry about the cap lock back there but I wanted to make sure that point is stress. If you are during swimwear or lingerie then make sure you also have a bikini wax prior to your shoot. Trust me it will make all the difference in the world.
b. For Men: Pretty much goes for the guys like the lady when it comes to dealing with long hair. However, men…when its time to come to a shoot get your haircut the night before. This will ensure that you a fresh and crisp look. If you are during any shirtless pictures make sure you shave underneath your arms, chest, stomach and lower stomach area. (Unless the client specifies otherwise).
3. Clean and Clear Skin: Now when it comes to taking photos you really have to ensure that your skin is always clean and clear. Most models (especially male) think that clear skin only means the face. WRONG! Clear skin means not only your face but also your body. If you are aware that any part of your body will be exposed on a photo shoot, then you want to pay very close to attention to your overall skin appearance. Many models (once again especially male…sorry guys) are not aware of body acne that can appear on the skin. We recommend that you use a body acne soap that helps fights and kills bacteria on the body. Products like Clarifying Body Spray (
www.murad.com) are great at this task. But you should consult with your dermatologist to get helpful information about treating and preventing body acne. Also, avoid wearing makeup to the set. The makeup artist(s) will need to have a clear pallet in order to create their master piece.
4. A beautiful smile goes a long way: When preparing to take pictures you need to make sure you have a gorgeous set of teeth. If you are a smoker and heavy coffee or tea drinker then the best advice I can give you is to stop now! But that is easier said then done, so we suggest that you invest in using products like Crest White Strips. Products like the Crest White Strips can help make your teeth a couple of shades lighter within a week in most cases. Trust me when I say it makes a big difference. However, this does not substitute for professional whitening performed by your dentist. If you are serious about being a model I would HIGHLY recommend you have your teeth professionally whiten.
5. Body Spray instead of perfume and cologne: All models should use some form of body spray (especially for swimwear and underwear shoots). These sprays can be found pretty much anywhere and guys you can use products like TAG. They excellent in helping to keep you feeling and looking fresh. And don’t forget to ALWAYS wear invisible deodorant!
6. Nails: Please make sure you take good care of your nails. This includes your hands and feet. Guys do not be shy to go and get a pedi and medi once a month.
