Hi there. I'm Malcolm. A writer by profession, I took up photography as a hobby only a couple of years ago as a way of not going crazy in my native Los Angeles. It quickly grew into something I loved. I took photos of every darn thing I could, including a couple of friends who modeled for me. Then I spent a year in a small Alabama town, which was sort of like being in photographer's boot camp. With so few visual resources to work with you have to work like hell to get a good shot.
I'm into the art side of things. Adams, Weston, Lange, Arbus, Mapplethorpe, Garduno... those are the folks who stir my blood. Just between you and me, 70% of the photos on Mayhem look like they were taken by the same person and 20% are just plain terrible. To be in that remaining 10% is what I'm shooting for. I'm looking for models who can help take my photography to that level. I'm not looking for perfection, looks-wise. It's the little flaws that make true beauty and art. The human body is just another beautiful landscape, as far as I'm concerned. Almost all of my photos are straight out of the camera with no post editing. In fact half of them were taken with a point and shoot. I'd rather capture the moment than get bogged down in front of the computer, trying for "perfection" after the fact.
My rates... it all depends. I'm happy to do TFCD, because it's all about the art and making the both of us look good. But if you're a model who charges... well then... my rates are EXACTLY the same as yours! Funny how that works out, eh? I don't mind traveling if the model and photo op are well worth it. If you need to work on your portfolio, think I have a good eye, and are semi-local, don't hesitate to contact me. We'll probably both be surprised at what we come up with together. That's the fun of it all.
