I'm currently finishing up my BFA in photography at the University of Texas at Arlington. I need models to accomplish certain projects that require me to reach outside my usual pool of faces. I will post proposal ideas of current projects; I will also be needing hair and make-up people for some projects I have under way. Still tied to a student budget much of the time, I usually pay in prints although for skills such as fire play (breathing, spinning) other payment may be considered.
I come from a Fine Art background. I have published a book of travel images from Italy called 'Luce Scura' that is available on blurb.com. Many shoots are about achieving a single frame that may start as thumbnail in my sketch book. Models should know that this way of shooting is different from many photographers they may have worked with. What I look for and expect from the models I use is a partnership; wether it is a piece I have envisioned or an interesting portfolio shot brought to me by the model it is importiant to me to have a clear vision of what the final product will be, while still having the patience to experiment.
In most respects my work starts out as strait photographs before being manipulated and processed, but other projects require me to change the way in which I go about shooting. Light painting is an example of this, I use flash lights to paint the scene and model so in many ways it is related as much to painting as it is to photography. I also contribute to stock photo sites so model releases may be required on certain shoots, and once again in cases like these pay is negotiable.
The only site I have at the moment with examples of my work is my myspace page. I am currently building a site of my own and looking into hosting options.
