I am a photographer/video/filmmaker from Los Angeles, in Columbus until late 2011. I am currently in Ohio wrapping up my MFA at Ohio State University and getting certified in Pilates.

Funny fact: in the 6 or so years I have been on this site I have not had one photo shoot with a model off from MM. As much as I appreciate a beautiful woman, and I do, I rarely think they are interesting enough to shoot on beauty alone. All the women in my work (men as well) are muses in my life, so shooting for me is a serious commitment for both the muse and myself. Shooting strangers once without knowing each other feels like prostitution to me. I am just super obsessive about this, and the strength of my work is all about that connection. It is what it is. But I still have my work out there and who knows, the universe works in strange ways.
Things that influence me or my work: baptism imagery, triumph of any kind (Egypt for example), the open road, doorways, riding in cars, country roads, thunderstorms, the Yankees, boardwalks, my animals companions (cat and dog), yoga, Pilates, meditation, jazz, opera, dance of all forms, carnivals, street people, bicycles, clementines in the winter, ripe persimmons, John Cage, grumpy cab drivers and pirates.
My focus is on portraits. I shoot a lot of video installations influenced by Warhol and Yoko Ono. My interests in art are entirely non-commercial and post-post modern. An exception being a series of short films I am making of adaptations of a Beat poets' writing (Herbert Huncke). I am also shooting fine art mini-docs on various people I love, ie. Taylor Mead (Warhol Actor/Beat Poet/East Village Icon) and Debbie Doebereiner (Soderburgh's Film, Bubble)
