I am a very experienced photographer, working in Digital (who isn't!) and film, and moving more and more in the direction of B&W film using medium and large format cameras, the latter a 10"x8" camera for which I shoot on X-ray film (note that it doesn't take X-rays, but the film is simple B&W film, only formulated in the old style from the early days of Photography, so it gives a very different look to images). I print on handmade photosensitive paper in pure Palladium metal, in Carbon pigment transfer and Silver using contact printing methods (hence the need for large negatives).
When shooting models I also use digital, a Nikon D800 (gives massive files and so a great deal of flexibility) and this allows me to easily and quickly give a set of digital files for models' portfolios.
I love to photograph people, portraits, physique and nudes. I know that many models shy away from nudes (a sign of the mores of the 21st century I guess - at least in some places) and my photography does not require nudity, but it is about the human body, so you should be sufficiently comfortable to model in underwear, speedos etc.
I am an artist photographer, and the presentation of images is of central concern to me - I am interested in presenting a body of work through exhibition, possibly in a London gallery and as Folio sets of images for possible collectors in very limited editions to concentrate on my current projects. If your photos appear in such a folio set then they will include 2 APs (Artists Proofs) one of which will be for the model in that image set - so you would then, also receive (in due course) a high quality folio of handmade images from your shoot. If your images appear in a future exhibition then I would be delighted to invite you to that exhibition
I am interested in establishing a body of work which shows the human form in concert with the natural form, the body in the landscape - this would ideally be nudes, but could be carefully posed to be suggestive of the natural state, if you are too shy or otherwise concerned by nudity.
A second body of work to show the human form in isolated, abstracted simplicity against a plain backdrop to focus attention on the body. The images here will explore the body showing fragments and fragments of fragments. Again, ideally nude, but not necessarily
A third set of work to show the people, simple portraits from clothed to semi clothed, fitness and physique, suitable props and locations as part of the ambiance of the image.
I hope that you find these projects of interest and that the way that I work to be of value to you and your portfolio. I look forward to working in partnership with you to continually stay fresh, new and relevant
