A KWIRK is an odd habit. It is also defined as a peculiarity of action, behavior, or personality; mannerism; a shift, subterfuge, or evasion; a sudden twist or turn; a flourish or showy stroke, as in writing.
Most dictionaries list this word's origin as “unknown”. However, as the surname arises from the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea, and because the island is somewhat notorious for idiosyncratic behaviors.
The work of KWIRK then, will be expressions of the unusual, unexpected, and out of the ordinary. These photos are not the pretty shots of models, but gloomy visions, darker manifestations and crime scene imagery.
KWIRK will continue to create images along these lines and will be doing series for zivity.com. Please let me know if you are interested in being a part of these projects.
