Mocha Ria is a bombshell in the making and a live pinup Toronto socialite on the rise. Although she is photographed at what seems to be every major event she is no Ms Hilton. She is studying to become a journalist. Being on the party scene so much helps her understand the industry, entertainment, music and what Toronto night life is really like. Not only can she rock a swimsuit but she can write a mean exposé. Mocha Ria grew up with a musical background; since being well rounded (no pun intended) was important to her parents they enrolled her various dance classes when she was only 5 years old. She did it all from ballet to jazz. She sang and dance daily in front of her mirror and once in a while when her relatives visited. Dance and vocal lessons began to seem like a chore to Mocha Ria so like many kids she grew out of it.
Naturally as she got older her interests began to change. The first model she could ever remember wanting to emulate was Tyra Banks. Her parents took her to her first model casting call at age 12. By 13 she was signed. She quickly learned the modeling industry was not all glamour. Some of it was scary and life threatening. She began to develop more in some places than others. Although she was never over weight she was also never skinny. She was pressured by her agency to lose weight. She tried doing so in all the wrong ways. It was the decision of her parents to take her away from that world from the time being. She left the agency before they could drop her. Even with all the harsh critiques she got her parents continued to support her and tried to show her she didn’t need to be paper thin to be a model.
Mocha Ria has always been naturally curvy but her body made her uncomfortable. Shopping was the hardest thing to do. Unlike most girls she was never excited about shopping. To her it was just another day of hours upon hours of trying on clothes that didn’t fit like they were supposed to. She began to get more and more offers to do pinup like shoots. It was hard for her to make the transition because she was not comfortable with her curves and nor was she comfortable with the raciness and the idea of being a “vixen.” Her first pinup shoot was done with Chris Hughes of Fashion Freakers. When she got back her prints she was shocked. She expected the worst but what she saw was a Born Again Vixen.
It took her a couple of years to find her niche and even though she is a stick figured model she still rocks a swimsuit like nobody’s business!
