Photography is not just my passion, it's my obsession. Little did I know that once my grandmother bought me my first 110 camera at the age of 6 that it would eventually lead to where I am today. Family life put a stop to my schooling, but I've always snapped hundreds of photos during birthday parties, events, etc. It wasn't until my 3rd child was born in 05 and I again had to stop my schooling, that I realized how obssessed I was with photography and with no time to attend school, I decided to self teach. For my anniversary on Nov. 2006 my husband bought me my first DSLR of which I had NO idea how to use but just broke it out of the box and began tinkering with it. I read through the manual which was way beyond what I understood. Over the past few years I've read up on photography, watched internet videos, studied my manual in more depth and this time can actually understand it and grasp the concept.

Over the past few years I bought digital software, backdrops, a portable backdrop stand, lighting, gathered props, and have put them to use. I've learned by trial and error. I took photos for people that didn't mind waiting for me to get the perfect setting before proceeding with the rest of the photo shoot. Eventually those subjects referred me to others and they have always loved the photos I took, and didn't mind being patient as I learned and experimented withsettings and they received nice photos for themselves as an outcome.

A situation took place at my full-time job where I just one day said, enough is enough. I like my job, but I love photography. I found someone on a local website that was willing to teach me some pointers. He is a photographer on this website as well. I since started up a Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/bexpix), ordered some business cards so I could hand out when I shot photos for people, and even registered a domain (www.bexpix.com) which is not yet developed.

My family and friends are all very supportive and I couldn't be where I am even today without their support or the support of my husband.

My goals are to build my website, shoot at special events, and one day be able to retire doing photography. To be able to go to work and not just like my job, but LOVE it!!
