Who is Buck Remington?
Buck Remington is the alter ego of Buck Photography (MM#2411275); rather, the photographic incarnate fascinations of a devious mind yearning to escape from a clean cut flesh-vessel. Herein resides the dark, the discomforting, the every depravity of human nature captured as beautifully as possible. Welcome are all manner of fetishists, dark dreamers, and miscreants. Art is not limited to the superfluously beautiful... Beauty can be uneasy, disconcerting, and downright disturbing. This is the home for that part of my mind. Join me. Let's make fantastically beautiful fascinations of disturbia.
By day (and sometimes night), I'm an instrument technician at a power plant. I calibrate the doohickeys and whistles that keep your lights on. When I'm not doing that, there's fairly good odds you'll find a camera in my hand. I've been shooting vanilla journalism for twenty-plus years, editorial and artistic for the last decade, and erotic and fetish for the last two. When I'm not shooting, I'm probably tinkering. I collect and repair antique cameras, I buy broken cameras and frankenstein the parts, I build custom lenses to suit specific purposes, and I'll often shoehorn the wrong film into the wrong camera for shits and giggles. There's a limited bit of my vanilla work here, but I'm trying to keep my 'nilla and fetish work separate now, so if you want to see more of that, just let me know.
Geographically, I live in the sticks. Fredericksburg, Culpeper, Charlottesville, and Richmond are equidistant from my house. I tend to hang out in Richmond because it's the straitest shot by road, and Warrenton, because that's where my old-school vanilla friends are. When it comes to photography, I have a few local spots to shoot with enough advance notice, a bland studio room at my house, and a farm with incredible variety and options available in Northern VA. I generally prefer to travel for new locations; the potential shot determines the distance, but a three to four hour drive is okay for a great concept, and further can be arranged for the right shoot and awesome detour potential.
Until further notice, I'll also be traveling to Niantic/New London, CT area for a month or so each year.
