I am an independent filmmaker in the Charleston S.C. area and owner of Lost Angel Films.

A few years ago when I first decided to go fully into filmmaking I knew I wanted to be truly independent. What that meant to me was being self financed, owning all your own equipment and to know every aspect of filmmaking so I wouldn't have to depend on anyone else. I've just seen too many other filmmakers not being self financed and the headaches it brings. I saw that the lack of funds had them rushing through a project, not being able to complete a project or just not doing a project at all because they couldn't afford the rental fees on the equipment they needed to due their work. I noticed that many filmmakers had pigeon holed themselves into just one skill set and were dependant on too many other people that didn't always pull through for them and often times left the project dead in the water. So before I even started Lost Angel Films I began purchasing all the equipment I would need to make movies and tried to learn every aspect of filmmaking (photoshop printwork and corrections, editing, visual effects, screenwriting, cinematography etc) even though my original intent was just to director. My goal was that no matter what, the project would be completed on time and under budget while maintaining a rare level of artistic freedom. So with that done I put a team of people together and made Lost Angel Films.


So this year I have several things coming up from a Webisode's series to a feature length horror film which we start in November and I am in constant need for actors, actresses, models for adverting, posters, hair and makeup artist etc. Which brings me here. Which seems to be the best resource I have found for networking by far. I actually ended up here from another site that was suppose to be for "Actors" but wow, they weren't very photogenic lol. I would rather work with a first time actor or actress that looks good on camera with some talent than someone with experience that doesn't.

Anyways I'm looking forward to meeting and working with some of you and being part of the community. I definitely will be contacting some of you since I know I need a dependable makeup artist. I'm also trying to hand pick some talent for the upcoming horror movie before the casting director gets a hold of it and runs the nightmare of the cattle call. Also if anyone needs some help with their reel, photoshop, visual effects or whatever, let me know, I'm pretty versatile.
