Omare Banks, is a young fashion designer, artist and community health worker from Upstate New York. Banks started designing clothing and accessories in 2005 with a focus in knitwear. He continued to create crochet and knitwear garments for several years. Over time, Banks transitioned into creating art sculptures, paintings and accessories. Since then, Banks has been featured in several fashion shows and photo shoots across North America. He has also worked as a Backstage Assistant and Dresser for over 30 New York Fashion Week shows since 2014. Banks was the Accessory Designer for a Project Runway Season 10 finalist and was a featured designer at Houston Fashion Week 2015. He has modeled in fashion shows, photo shoots, and in his own creations. Now, Banks is in the process of building his brand and cultivating a company for wearable art, and hand-crafted accessories.
