As a writer/director his first feature film, 'Fray,' was called "superior" by the LA Times and won the Grand Jury Prize at Dances With Films. Ryan's latest film, 'Blood From Stone' was called a "genre-defying" film by Variety and currently has a 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Ryan has also directed & shot commercials for Macy’s, David’s Bridal, Holoride VR, and more. His screenplay for Fray was selected for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science’s permanent library collection.
