Details:
when i was born, my legs were turned inward. i had surgery early on and wore casts up my entire leg when i was young. i wore corrective shoes and went to doctors for many years for this.
as an adult, i have learned to walk mostly straight and there are no scars from the operations. but the experience has affected me (see "imprinting" on wikipedia) and i feel strong emotions toward medical braces, both fear and compulsion and fascination.
i have been collecting vintage medical braces for the last few years in hopes that someday i can put aside time to do a series on them-neck braces, polio leg braces, chest pieces, etc. they are creepy, old and dusty. and they were used by real people, not just in boxes all these years.
in the last six months i have asked several of my closest friends who are models to join in this project, but i feel i would like to prepare for more than the four i had promised to work on this with.
i do not shoot gore. i do not shoot fake blood. i want to shoot something meaningful and emotive, because this has deep meaning for me.
if you just want to shoot with me, but this shoot does not fit you, please just answer another casting call or email me.
if this does appeal to you and this has a personal meaning for you somehow, please let me know. i want a model who will show a real and intense emotion in response to the braces. we can develop the concept together, i have had the braces for a while and they are just waiting for partners.

My mother had polio. She has always worn a brace on her leg. We have about 7 of them upstairs in the attic.
