Casting for:

Negotiable

Details:
I have a collection of over 100 authentic Japanese kimonos that need to be photographed in an artistic and culturally sensitive manner for the creation of a self-funded exhibition and academic research catalogue. As this is a large task, more than one collaborator is welcome and the activity will probably be divided into phases, the first of which ends on 24th July 2007, when I return to Japan to lead a study tour. Between now and then, I would like to collaborate with a talented photographer on this project. In addition to the photographs required for the catalogue, the photographer may wish to make use of the costumes for his/her own projects with my help as a kimono dresser and/or model. For insurance reasons, most photography will need to be done at a location in Woolwich, London SE18; however, some of the items would be suitable for taking to other outdoor and indoor locations anywhere in the UK. Regrettably, there is no budget for professional fees, but everyone will be treated to lots of sushi rolls and have the chance to experience a tea ceremony and other aspects of traditional Japanese culture.

Dear Akemi,

I wanted to know if your still sourcing for a photographer to shoot your kimono's. I'm very fond and passionate about Japanese culture and see this as a great honour.

If its already over let me know, i'm also quite keen to know if its possible to loan or rents kimonos that you might have.

Warm Regards,

Geoffrey Shek
