As we all do (or at least most of us) judge a person by how they look on the outside. We come up with instant ideas of whom that person is.
I want to take a portrait of you with a twist.
A portrait on the outside, but you are opening up your jacket / shirt and the viewers sees your insides to be a bird cage or some other container / vessel. Inside is anything that says something about you that people would not know if just seeing you walking down the street. The whole idea of first impressions vs. substance. Make sense? Can be showing just a little peek or opening up proudly to the whole world.
You can hang just one thing there in the cage or fill it up. I will take a portrait of you and then a separate image of the birdcage or other container. Afterwards I will put the two together in Photoshop to make it look real (not some lame cut and paste job).
Things you need to know. I will require a model release to be signed. In the end you will get a digital file big enough to enjoy on your computer and share. Also a final print. You will need to show at least some skin under your neckline for me to do the combining of images, so be comfortable with that. There is no look or age I am trying to photograph, just people with interesting stories to tell.
So send me a photograph of you and tell me what you want to share about yourself.
I will be shooting this in my studio (Pearl district) over a period of months.
Thank you for your response,
