The story is about a guy who is sitting in Grand Central sketching crowds of people. His sketches are inter-spliced and overlaid on top of the images of crowds (ill explain this further later). In the midst of people he spots a beautiful girl and hastily sketches her, fantasizing about her beauty and charm.* She vanishes into the crowd and he runs after her but she's nowhere to be found. He then realizes that he left his sketchbook behind and panic ensues. He desperately scours the area for it but there's no sign. He goes to the lost and found but it's closed. The guy goes to a pay phone and calls the MTA to report the missing sketch book but he finds himself mired in red tape and slams the phone down. Finally, the guy retires to the spot where he first sat sketching, head in his hands.
As he meditates on his guilt and loss, a lone figure enters the frame and hands him the sketch book.
"Always the last place you looked, huh?" She smiles.
She grins a beautiful little grin and sails off back into the crowd.
He's in awe, so much that he doesn't even realize what has just happened. He quickly darts up and chases her through the crow, only for her to vanish again.
A few minutes earlier.
*The guy is sitting in Grand Central sketching crowds of people as we saw him, a few minutes earlier. He sketches the beautiful girl before him. She spots him, smiles and is once again consumed by the sea of people around her.
