Details:
I had a couple of ideas for a shoot, and was hoping to find a photographer who wasn't afraid of working with animals and willing to do Time for Pictures or Time for CD. The first possibility would be working with Nathaniel, my five year old Ball Python, and I. Nate is extremely gentle and does well in front of the camera, although he'll get restless after more than two hours. However, he is considered an undomesticated animal, so there is a possibility he'll bite- he's never done it before, and it's not a life threatening injury if he does (assuming the bite has been taken care of) - so the photographer should be aware of that if s/he plans on touching Nate. The second possibility would be with our Mastiff puppy, Eddie. Eddie is a little over a year old and about 150lbs. If you've never seen a Mastiff before, they're sort of like short, muscular Great Danes. He's an extremely loving dog who will not bite, but he will have to come greet you right away. With Eddie, expect fifteen minutes at the beginning to meet him and get him settled, and please do not wear nice clothes- he's a drooler. Once he's settled though (this will most likely mean him lying down, otherwise he'll go into puppy mode) he should be good for about an hour. He may also knock you over in an attempt to play- he's not yet aware of his size. The third possibility is working with Mr. Squiggles and Junior, two short-haired rats that belong to a friend of mine. They are both about five inches long with black fur; however, Mr. Squiggles is bigger, has a white patch on his forehead, a white belly, and a red mark down around his rump. They may nibble, but they will not bite, and their claws are quite sharp. I could also assemble up to fifteen rats if the photographer has an idea. I will not be doing nudity with this shoot, however partially nudity is fine. Eddie must be shot outdoors, preferably at a dog park. Nate can be outdoors as long as it is above 45 degrees. The rats must be shot indoors in a closed-off location. I have ideas for all of them, but am open to hearing new ones! Also, there's no set date on this shoot, and I am willing to work with multiple photographers with the same animal. I can travel up to one hour outside of Madison.
