Details:
I'm a model for an up-and-coming website, called "Breathing Canvas" I got accepted as a model and photographer, and I am helping with some of the recruitment now as well. The website will feature models who are tattooed, pierced and alternative in general who can choose between posing fully nude, partially nude or clothed. We are accepting heavily tattooed and pierced male models as well.
The site is going to be based around not only models (although that will be it's main focus) but will also focus on art of all forms. This is why the name 'Breathing Canvas' was chosen-- it refers to the fact that we use our bodies to create all sorts of art. Models use their bodies as a canvas for art, painters use their fingers and hands to create art, musicians use their vocal cords and hands to create art, etc. We will accept bands to be featured, authors to write articles/poetry/etc., artists to feature and tattoo artists as well.
As of right now models aren't being paid, because we're are JUST getting started. We want to have a decent model base before we even launch a myspace. We hope to though once the website is up, running and has a decent membership. To apply, fill out the following information and email it to breathingcanvas@gmail.com. Make sure you attach 3 headshots and 5 full body shots (one of which must be untouched). If you plan on modeling nude for us, make sure you also attach atleast 3 fully nude pictures as well. Note: We are not going to have male models do fully nude modeling, as it appears too pornographic and that's not what we're going for. You'll receive an email from us as soon as possible telling whether or not your application was accepted. Thanks again... and good luck!

What types of body modifications do you have?
Why do you want to be a Breathing Canvas model?:
What can you offer the site?:
How long have you been modeling?:
Why do you do it?:
Can you commit to submitting a set once every two months (or more!)?:
Do you plan on modeling nude/partially nude? (if so we need proof of your age):
The rules for the sets are as follows:
1.) Absolutely NO sets taken of yourself. They need to look professional. It doesn't matter if your photographer is your mom or best friend- you need to have someone else take your pictures.
2.) Your backgrounds can't be:
- wrinkly sheets
- plain white walls (a plain white backdrop is okay)
- a messy bedroom
- anything that's distracting
- in an area where people that are not models are behind you.
3.) Be creative! This is a website based around the celebration of art in all mediums. Throw something crazy in there, and never be afraid to express yourself.
4.) This is a classy site. Although we are fine with nudity in your sets, don't make them sexual. A naked body can be very beautiful- so make it beautiful, not slutty. If we think your set is too sexual or trashy looking, it won't be accepted onto the site. If you're uncertain as to what we consider too much, ask us- we'll be sure to let you know.
(This includes, but is not limited to:
- No sexual gestures ex. touching themselves, playing with naughty props, etc.
- When posing with other models nude, model's shouldn't be acting like they're "doing stuff" other than kissing and hugging/holding each other.
- No pictures of your genitals.
- etc.)
5.) Sets they submit should consist of a minimum of 50 pictures. And atleast 3/4 of them should be full body shots (More than just a head & shoulders picture-- your feet and lower legs don't necessarily have to be in it.)
6.) After being accepted, you have a month to get your first set into us. I have been involved in sites in the past where models would be accepted and never heard from again. To know that you'll be dedicated, you need to have a set in exactly one month after you receive the 'You're Accepted!' email we send you. If, for some reason, you know you won't be able to by that date comes, let us know. We're reasonable people and we'll be understanding. We just want to have dedicated models.
7.) Basically, we have the final say of whether or not your set goes up or not. By saying 'no' it's either because it's boring, doesn't look professional, too trashy or isn't flattering. We want the site to maintain a certain image, so the sets must all be high quality and professional looking. When you submit pictures, please follow these guidelines:
If it's a vertical picture, the height must be 1000 pixels.
If it's a horizontal picture, the width must be 1000 pixels.
Please don't make them larger and definitely not smaller.
