INTERVIEW: Part 3 of an extended interview with the Airship Ambassador blog, in which I discuss my approach to working with models! https://airshipambassador.wordpress.com … terfield3/
I'm a semi-professional photographer seeking models for conceptual and artistic work, primarily Steampunk-oriented these days, and including nudes, on a TFP basis while I grow my portfolio--and yours.
To me, working with a model is a synergistic, creative partnership. It's not just all about my eye and camera, and it's not just all about the model's look and skill; together we're creating a whole new thing that hasn't existed before, and that wouldn't exist if it weren't for us finding that moment together. A successful shoot should be planned and organized, but free to deviate from the plan as the muse takes us: I'm always open to ideas from models.
Lately, I'm obsessing about steampunk, as you can tell from my portfolio. I'm primarily interested less in sticking gears and goggles on everything and more in exploring the darker side of the theme. Join me on an adventure in the dark and mysterious steam! My work has been featured at Clockwork Alchemy and BentCon, and other conventions.
I'm also working a lot more with straightforward nude studies, featuring the models' skills (and flexibility) with no or minimal props (take a look at the Old Red Chair collection, for instance). I think these are working out very nicely, and generally tend to stay within my dark-ish aesthetic.
Feel free to contact me about anything you'd like to know or discuss; I'm relatively sane, generally friendly, largely un-creepy, and genuinely delighted to work with you.
