Hello! My name is Emily Kiyomi and I am a photographer.

I never understood having a passion until my eyes were opened to photography. I'm currently a third year student at CSU Sacramento, looking to build my portfolio and gain more experience. I've been a photographer for four years and am very excited to be majoring in photography. I don't limit myself when it comes to shooting. I've gone to fashion shows in San Francisco, I've done live music and band photos, tried my hand at senior portraits, shot multiple plays and musicals. I'm interested in documentary photography. Had published work in newspaper and online articles. I've even shot sporting events, specifically the 12th annual Madden-Mariucci Bocce Ball tournament and still managed to make some exhilarating shots.

I was once told to make the ordinary extraordinary and that’s what I do. I especially love lighting - natural or studio - and am eager to learn everything there is to know to continue to expand my horizons and learn as much as I can.

Photographers... well, if you're looking for a model and like my profile picture (That's me by the way...), I'm not really a model but I can try. I've been told I should model. If so, let me know.

I'm also looking to meet models in the Sacramento area (or from anywhere if you're interested in working with me) that would like to trade their talent for photos.

I am not interested in shooting anything towards a sexual nature whatsoever. I make art. I am looking for models that can bring that sort of modeling to the table. So models, make wise choices with the photos you post to represent yourself.

I am currently looking for male or female models that can pull of a "film noir" or a 1940s hollywood glamour look. I love that genre and have always wanted to make it into a reality.

CURRENTLY WHAT I'M WORKING ON:

My latest project is about ethnicities and capturing the many faces of America. I'm juxtaposing a person's everyday/casual self with their ethnic reflection. So if you have any elaborate cultural outfits and would be interested, let me know.

I will be making a website soon, but until then, I have a sample of some of my work on a flickr account.
