About Me*** Not interested in 'retouchers', I photoshop my own work if necessary ***
If you like my work and are interested in shooting, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm always interested in shooting. Don't forget to check out the link to my website above! (although its out of date)
Currently 'cd-for-time' work only.
18 years photographic experience. Since I bought my first "real" camera back in '98, I found a deep interest in fashion photography. Attended the 'New York Institute of Photography'. I've worked 3 different photo labs including 'lab-tech/manager' for 3 years at Wolf/Ritz Camera. Shot 35mm film for 10 years, and digital the past 8 years or so. With 18 yrs. experience I know print sizes for printing as well as proper cropping ratios (ie. photoshop) for printing and/or displaying photographs whether it be a print or displayed on a computer screen.
18yrs experience gains knowledge on chromatic aberration(s), depth of field, aperature, shutter, metering/exposure, and how to 'read' light are some of the few elements I believe are required.
I've never made a living at photography, but there's a certain satisfaction that comes with it all. And that is the opportunity to create and the reward in the end when you've finally reached your goal for what you can consider "awesome". And when the feeling is mutual for the model, it is truly something to be proud of.
That being said. I'm not someone who's recently got into photography due to an ease of digital. Although film has dissipated, much craft still exists among digital and all the principles of the art remain the same. The camera is an instrument which I believe must be mastered to some degree to experience the 'realm' of it all.
Interested in Erotic, Fetish, Pin-Up and Fashion style images that have impact and punch. Models such as Sinteque and Dita Von Teese are an inspiration. Not to rule out high quality fashion images found in Vogue Magazine (especially those 500+ page issues) that I find inspirational as well. I'm a big fan of huge poster prints.
My objectives have shifted toward "Erotic/Pin-Up" style for I feel I've achieved my goals to some degree in 'normal' fashion. I still enjoy all of it as a whole so I will always love shooting normal fashion.
Like to keep my equipment minimal and use 'natural, available light' when possible (tripod/lights indoors, handhold outdoors).
Prefer shooting in RAW with the models copy being in Jpeg format.
I Shoot Sony DSLR's w/ either Sony or Minolta AF lenses and prefer fixed focal length lenses over zooms.
I have no problem shooting with someone who's never modeled before. This is what makes it so amazing. The creative aspect. With my experience, if the 'subject' works with the 'director', I feel that I can always make a great shoot happen.
Would be nice to shoot with people to help them achieve their goals and my own in return. Someday I'd like to put together a fetish book or some kind of coffee table book. Would also be interested in finding model(s) to shoot, where the model has their own website having 'sets' for sale or a 'membership' type thing where the model and photographer could both profit. Again, this is just an idea.
