I'm a full time nurse and mom, but I have a daughter who is a model so I often find myself doing the styling for her.  I have found that I really love to come up with ideas and concepts for shoots or to put together the wardrobe when a photographer has an idea he is interested in.  For me, the joy comes in seeing the combination of my vision with the vision of the photographer and the talent of the model.  I'm not 20 (not even close), so I have lived through a few fashion periods and can remember exactly how that period should look and feel and I love to be creative, so this is just an extension of that.
